S.E.A.® - Somatic Emotional Acupressure
Calming the seas inside us.
S.E.A.® is a gentle, non-invasive technique that allows the client to relax, and the practitioner to communicate with the unconscious self. S.E.A.® tracks through time, through space, through levels of consciousness, through the body and brain, through the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels, journeying on visceral and emotional currents to find the repressed energetic charge, using acupressure and muscle monitoring, with the intention of releasing and recalibrating stress. The release of the repressed stress from traumatic moments in the past that we couldn't reconcile causes a loss of our best function now.
Finding the imprint moment means finding the first time the body/system had to survive a moment of overwhelming shock. To survive, it created a strategy. That survival strategy remains a functional part of our approach to life until we can disconnect it. It often isn't that our brain/body 'can't' do it, but rather that at some level below our awareness, we made a choice NOT TO, in order to survive a moment.
Every part of us operates in collusion and balance in a cooperative interplay of homeostasis-even when we are out of balance. It’s all working perfectly. The question that an S.E.A.® practitioner asks is why is the system doing what it is doing? The premise is nothing is broken, it has a reason for what it is doing. It’s not that it can’t, it’s that the system is choosing not to, and SEA™ is concerned with that choice point in time.
Wherever there is fear within us there is a moment connected to it where we lost power, were overwhelmed and energetically froze. That frozen part of us still calls our attention, like open files on your PC desktop, still requiring and drawing energy even though we are unaware of it being there. We are losing energy, strength, and ultimately health due to our past unfinished business. We are losing our life force.
Emotions are water, and we can either walk on those waters and have our emotions support us, or we can drown in them, feeling them swamp us, surging up to flood. Once triggered into reaction, we are no longer in control of our responses. The emotional body will overtake the conscious will, with the prime directive of surviving. As long as the perception is that there is something threatening, we will live in re-action to a moment that is often long ago, and often consciously forgotten.
When we are in control of our emotional body however, the waters will part and we will walk through events unscathed. If we remain in fear, that fear will sink us. It’s what lies beneath the waters, deep in the sea, that threatens. That deep pressure, held under, feels like self sabotage to the conscious self on the surface that wants something else.
Often once the repressed charge is gently released, we are able to gain insights, perspectives and understanding over events that held us hostage. Once we are able to move back into our higher brain, we are able to step into compassionate release and forgiveness, and our past no longer owns us.
Usually it takes a number of sessions that build on each other. Usually it is suggested that 2 sessions be scheduled initially, with time in-between to process the changes. From there, the individual is best able to decide how many sessions and the depth and scope of work they wish to embrace for changing their life. Most find this work so gentle and comfortable that children will ask their parents for more, and adults walk away pleasantly surprised.
Often parents, watching the shifts in their children and will schedule sessions for themselves, recognizing that it just might be possible to change the patterns of their own lives!
We fear what we imagine is lurking in the depths, when in truth, it is our internal traumatized child, our own light and divine self, waiting to grow up and come back to us, the is hiding inside. That the part of us that we put away when the world was to rough, too loud, too sharp, too intense, too overwhelming, needs to come back to us because it holds our authentic joy.
S.E.A.™ allows the internal system to release without having to go into the wounding story. It doesn't matter if you don't really know what happened consciously, because we aren't dialoging with your conscious self. And, we do not need the original story to clear the repressed stress.
Using a combination of muscle monitoring, acupressure, energy kinesiology and energy rebalancing techniques, S.E.A.® releases the repressed trauma in a gentle effective way, allowing the individual to move on into a more authentic expression of self.
When we are no longer re-acting to the past memory of a traumatic moment, stored in the body's re-actions to life, we find that our life becomes different and our ability to respond to life is gentler, easier and more peaceful.
